Mobile search is beginning to dominate over desktop search. This is simply because people are using their smartphones and mobile devices more, and mobile searchers take action. Over 75% of all mobile searches happen at home or the office, while less that 20% actually happen on the road. In a recent joint study by Google and Nielsen, shows that 55% of conversions from a mobile search happens within one hour. After analyzing over 6000 mobile searches and the actions that resulted, they were able to track precise and measurable connections between a mobile search and the online and offline conversion that it drives.
