Prime Day 2018: Tech Deals to Watch For
Amazon’s Prime Day is a once a year sale that many wait for when contemplating large purchases from the online retailer. Prime Day runs today (July 16th) starting at 3 PM ET through the end of the day on July 17th.
With deals in the past on everything from computer monitors and hard drives to dongles and TVs, there are bound to be some very compelling sales this year. These are some of the products you may want to keep your eye on as the sales begin.
Amazon Echo Spot
Amazon’s branded technologies are usually a staple for the top Prime Day deals, but aside from the classic Amazon Echo and the Echo Dot, the Echo Spot is one of the more exciting pieces of Amazon’s tech. It’s normally set at $130 and is what Mashable calls “the best balance of price, size and features” of the Echo series.
Philips Hue Starter Kit
Continuing on the smart home leg, smart lighting may be the next hot trend to keep your eye on. The Philips Hue Starter Kits are a fun way to implement a new controllable technology into your home. There are a multitude of starter kit options, including kits with two standard white bulbs and a hub. Add in rainbow colors with the color bulbs, and grab different shades of white as well.
Nanoleaf Starter Kit
In the same vein, the Nanoleaf lighting panels are a unique way to control the lighting in your space. Simply attach the panels to the wall in the design of your choice, then customize the color, brightness and more in the companion app.
HyperDrive USB-C Hub
If you are a Mac user, this USB-C Hub is specifically designed for the MacBook Pro, which turns the two USB-C ports into 7, including a microSD, HDMI, two USB-C, and two USB 3.0 ports (This is normally $99). There is also a HyperDrive Hub that is made for any USB-C based laptop, the HyperDrive Ultimate 11-in-1 USB-C Hub (normally $129.99).
Toys are another heavily discounted category on Prime Day, but this Lego kit goes beyond playtime with a huge technological upgrade, that works to help you (or your kids) learn to code, allowing you to build robots while working with a compatible app that fits with the STEM model.
